Alloy wheel refurbishment is the process of repairing alloy wheels in order to give them a new lease of life. As alloy wheels can easily become damaged, chipped and scratched through day-to-day driving, alloy wheel refurbishment has become a popular method of restoring alloy wheels to their original condition.
During the process of an alloy wheel refurbishment, the tyres are taken off the wheels before any work is carried out. The wheel is then thoroughly cleaned to remove all traces of grime and dirt before I lightly sand the damaged area.
Filler is then applied to scratches and scuffs. After being cured, the alloy is then sanded and prepared for primer and paint application. The paint can be colour matched to the existing wheels or to a colour of your choosing. When the paint has been applied and set, the wheel is then lacquered to a high-gloss finish before being cured and polished.
